cocotb version requirement not compatible with Mac M1/? architectures

I don't know if I am the only one. Building cocotb==1.8.0 did not work with my Apple M1. It works with the newest version (1.9.2).
Is this version requirement essential ?

cocotb==1.8 works on my Apple M3...

Was this an error message you see on pip install?

Indeed, there was an error while building wheel for cocotb. It was a problem with clang++ if I am not mistaken. I will try to reproduce the issue if possible
