[REQUEST] Which platforms and distros was this tested with?

This is an interesting concept. Can you elaborate on distros and specific platforms this was tested against? There are some significant differences between Intel. 7040 series and AI Series laptops. Clarity on what was tested would be useful.

Hi Matt, I've got a FW13 7840U, so personally I've only thoroughly tested it on that.

But so far, I've seen it running on:

• (FW13) Intel 11th/12th/13th Gen
• (FW13) Intel Core Ultra
• (FW13) 7040 Series
• (FW13) AI Series
• (FW16) 7040 Series
• (FW16) AI Series
• FW Desktop

I've created a poll on discussion #7, to help track this.

I've also tested it on Debian (KDE) and Windows, but I've heard of it running on:

• Void Linux
• Artix Linux
• Mint 22.2

There are some significant differences between Intel. 7040 series and AI Series laptops.

Oh, would you happen to know what these differences are? I don't think I've seen anyone reporting either success or issues on the AI Series laptops.

I know there are differences between Intel 11th/12th/13th Gen (which uses an MEC EC) and the later laptops (which uses NPCX), the MEC EC isn't currently supported without cros_ec_lpc on Linux or the Framework EC driver on Windows (Steve-Tech/CrOS_EC_Python#1 & #1).

Hi, if that helps, this runs on (FW13) AI Series, specifically on Ryzen AI 5 340.

The only issue I could see is the fans control being delayed, but maybe that's a technical limitation, not per model.
