WorldOS Contributor License Agreement

This Contributor License Agreement ("Agreement") applies to contributions submitted to WorldOS unless ElectricSheep agrees otherwise in writing.

By submitting a contribution, You agree to the terms below.

1. Definitions

"You" means the individual or legal entity submitting a contribution.

"Contribution" means any code, documentation, content, data, issue text, design, asset, patch, pull request, suggestion, or other material You submit to ElectricSheep for inclusion in WorldOS.

"ElectricSheep" means the project owner and license steward for WorldOS.

2. Copyright License

You grant ElectricSheep a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully paid-up, sublicensable, and transferable license to use, copy, modify, prepare derivative works of, publicly perform, publicly display, distribute, commercialize, sublicense, and relicense Your Contribution as part of WorldOS or any related product, service, distribution, or commercial license.

3. Patent License

If Your Contribution includes patentable material, You grant ElectricSheep and downstream recipients a perpetual, worldwide, irrevocable, non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully paid-up patent license to make, have made, use, sell, offer to sell, import, and otherwise transfer Your Contribution and works containing Your Contribution.

4. Ownership

You retain ownership of Your Contribution. This Agreement does not transfer Your copyright to ElectricSheep.

5. Contributor Certifications

You certify that:

  • You created the Contribution or otherwise have the right to submit it under this Agreement;
  • the Contribution does not knowingly include confidential information, trade secrets, private customer data, or material You are not authorized to submit;
  • the Contribution does not knowingly include third-party material unless that material is clearly identified and compatible with WorldOS licensing;
  • if You submit the Contribution on behalf of an employer or organization, You are authorized to bind that employer or organization, or the employer or organization has separately approved the Contribution; and
  • You understand that WorldOS may be licensed commercially, including under source-available, proprietary, royalty-bearing, or custom buyout terms.

6. Moral Rights

To the extent permitted by law, You waive and agree not to assert moral rights, neighboring rights, or similar rights that would interfere with ElectricSheep's use, modification, distribution, sublicensing, or relicensing of the Contribution.

7. No Warranty

You provide the Contribution "as is", without warranty of any kind. You are not required to provide support, maintenance, updates, or indemnity for the Contribution.

8. How to Acknowledge

Pull requests must include the CLA acknowledgement in the pull request template. ElectricSheep may require a signed individual or entity CLA before merging non-trivial contributions.
