About me

I'm a Data Science Manager at Etsy, Inc. where I focus on building tools to help teams build better machine learning algorithms by improving their datasets. I completed my PhD in Statistics at Harvard University in 2019 with a dissertation on the topic of model building.

I am interested in understanding the principles that lead to successful model building and developing tools to guide practitioners to this end. Thwork has always been guided by my collaborations with wonderful researchers in public health, political science, astrophysics and machine learning.

My work has been published in journals like Biostatistics, Human Molecular Genetics, American Journal of Medical Genetics, Stat, Communications in Statistics and Political Analysis. You can find a list of past and current projects below.

In my past I studied Mathematics and Statistics at the University of California, Davis, then more Statistics at University of California, Berkeley. After I had had enough of studying, I spent some time consulting in the San Francisco bay area before taking a position as a Statistician in the Biostatistics unit of the UC Irvine Institute for Clinical and Translational Sciences.
