[Feature Request] Is it possible to re-add some about:config stuff #98

Description

@Thyristor-Chopper
  1. prompts.tab_modal.enabled
    defaults to true, and if you change it to false, when sites use alert(), confirm(), prompt(), window.onunload, HTTP 401 response login dialog it shows as a true window modal dialog which is modal to the entire browser window and more true native message box. i always preferred this to be false.

  2. dom.disable_window_open_feature.location, dom.disable_window_open_feature.menubar, dom.disable_window_open_feature.personalbar, dom.disable_window_open_feature.resizable, dom.disable_window_open_feature.status, dom.disable_window_open_feature.toolbar
    these (when set to false) allows sites to open popup without address bar and any toolbars, which looks much cleaner.

    These sound interesting, especially prompts.tab_modal.enabled, I'll give it a try at some point.

    image doesn't show

    This is due to a long-ago implemented change by GitHub 😠 , in that it's no longer possible to hotlink (e.g. via copy&paste) to another member's attachment; in fact, attachments (like images) now don't come with a "perma-link", but instead a link that auto-refreshes every 5min; a copy/pasted image from another member's comment will stay visible ONLY for 5min (or less) ...

    The way to do this now is to first DL the image to disk, then upload (attach) it inside your own comment,

    Oh wow, thanks for that info! Many of us non-dev users would have never known about that - unless someone told us! Like, I don't know-- Github!

    They have done so much weird shit to GitHub recently and I don't know why they keep doing it. They have the webpage being like just weird in loading so back/forward doesn't catch all the pages I visit and if I go back, clicking stuff is just broken, what the fuck is this? I don't think GitHub has any big functional improvement in the past 10 or maybe more years. The only thing I can think of is the relatively new fork view that shows forks that have actually had changes applied to them compared to just all forks. However I would give that up just to have GitHub as it was like 10+ years ago. All this bloat and shit just makes the platform worse.

    👍 On other discussion groups eg HN , other devs have the same and stronger complaints. Some blame that GH/Microsoft has integrated 'vibe' coding into operations. Maybe the ten-year window debates that, but certainly the complaints have grown in last 5years.

    No wonder many devs have jumped to other repo hubs.

    large software companies are keep fireing developers but those absolute plonkers should seriously know that codes written by AI are mostly very poor quality & very unoptimised & also seems to be biased to Chromium based garbages just because many people use it
