FTVDB is an independent, community-maintained catalog of public update metadata for Amazon devices. It preserves firmware and system component version history for Fire TV, Fire Tablet, Echo, and Kindle devices in a structured public database.

FTVDB records information needed to identify and understand public device updates over time.

• Device family, model, display name, and package identifier
• Version name and numeric version code
• Date recorded by the catalog
• MD5 checksum retained as a record identifier
• Public source URL when the contributor has not requested an opt-out
• References for contributor opt-outs

Source URLs point to external systems that FTVDB does not operate or control. A listed source can change or become unavailable. The presence of a record is documentation, not a recommendation to download or install a file.

FTVDB does not collect or publish update binaries, device backups, private logs, credentials, account data, access tokens, or URLs that require bypassing access controls.

Each package file contains an array of version records using the existing JSON schema.

The uploaded field is the date stored by the catalog. An opted-out record can include an optout reference and an empty url. MD5 values are preserved for record matching and should not be treated as a modern security guarantee.

1. Contributors report publicly reachable update source URLs observed through normal diagnostics on devices they own or maintain.
2. Submitted URLs are validated and reviewed before accepted metadata is added to the catalog.
3. The structured records are published here and presented through ftvdb.com.

The project exists for documentation, repair research, software history, and preservation of public update metadata. It does not promote piracy, firmware downgrades, rooting, jailbreaking, or bypassing device security.

The website is the easiest way to browse the catalog. Developers and researchers can also read the published JSON database directly. The public API accepts new source URL submissions and does not serve database records.

Treat all external source URLs and metadata as untrusted input. Verify accuracy, compatibility, authenticity, and safety independently before relying on any record. FTVDB does not guarantee that a record is complete, current, available, or suitable for a particular use.

Attribution is appreciated when FTVDB data is used in public research, documentation, software, or release notes. Please credit ftvdb.com.

The preferred way to contribute a newly observed URL is through the submission page. Regular contributors can use the API.

Only submit public, unauthenticated source URLs observed from devices you own or maintain. Do not submit or attach update binaries, private logs, credentials, account data, personal information, tokens, or locations obtained by bypassing access controls.

• Submit a pull request for a verifiable database correction or documentation improvement
• Include enough public context to review a correction without exposing private or personal data
