links_plugin isnt updated on the find_plugin system of the new e107 #17
I've tested the new version of the links_page plugin that you recomend at the readme of this site, the version build by @rica-carv and works very well with e107 2.4.0-git with php 8.4.
But... ¿why that new version is not available on the published plugins?
how could be updated the oficial reference of that plugin to the version of @rica-carv that works fine with the latest updates of the e107?
For now I'm usi a dirty install (git clone and OK) of that plugin, but will be cool that the working version could be optainable just through the plugin finder of the admin page.
Sorry, if you mean core Find plugins, I can help. @rica-carv has to upload his version to e107.org But it hasn't been possible for a long time.
But downloading the zip and uploading it manually should still work. I have never used git clone and ok.
@rica-carv
What things are missing from the plugin?
I ask because I have installed it on a production site, so I must be aware so which features could be still broken.
Almost for me, I had to update some old links replacing a letter of the URL (like ad a www, or remove it if it is possible) because after the update some of the links instead of open the target returns to the hhome of the site. But after force the modification on the db with these silly changes, the links works again.
Any ways, thanks for your valuable work; with this the plugin works again :-)
So @Jimmi08 another question of other topic. Do you know if exist a repository of the "top downloads" plugin that is updated? or a new plugin that achieve the same feature?
@sanslash332
You know, it was always very hard to update plugins on e107.org; GitHub repos are a better way. I have plugin for this if you want to try.
@rica-carv To support the current development of e107 upstream (and its maintainer), I decided to minimize diversification of my solutions, because now somebody finally listens to users.
I did it with login_menu; now with featurebox... then it will maybe be forum and download.
Lite can sync with a GitHub repo without plugins, so I can put them back. But it is not easy... so it is going slowly. And the new theme based on tabler... the download plugin has to wait.

I understand you, and very much i do. I got my solutions to overcome issues not deal with for a long time, and now i got to scavenge my code to see if i still need them or not...
I know, so I need to take this slowly. e107sk,com is already running upstream 2.4 but my other sites...
I use Claude for comparing code and seeing changes, but sometimes it is worst that doing it manually.
About the download. Yes, there is a plugin for this, but it is an older one:
No, download plugin is OK. the built-in works fine. I'm talking about "top-downloads" plugin, that was an old (that you have listed on your plugin links of this repository) that listed the most downloads requested on the last week on a section field :-) Was fun have this on a site dedicated to download of games.
So, because that I asked if you know a updated version of that plugin, or another that includes that funcionality... And well, that will be easy to migrate from one to another; copy & paste more than 2000 downloads will be a pain xd.
Hum... and your link to the doenload-extended plugin throws me a 404 error. Are you sure that you don't have that repository as a private? xD
O, sure; if the plugin manager could got a new funcionality to install plugins directli from git urls and update it with a click of a button will be a great feature :-)
@rica-carv thanks for the advice. Is a site for blind people so... anybody of the users is aware of the size of images 🤣
for us, your update is working awesome for now :-)
Hum. I'll gona drop a feature request for you on the next days; i Got an idea.

@sanslash332 For instance, this: rica-carv/links_page#19

Anyway the plugin is barelly working, so if you experience any issues, just let us know....
@sanslash332 @Jimmi08 Regarding the download plugi, i've donne also my edownload plugin: https://github.com/rica-carv/edownload
