When integrating Permify into listing APIs, it becomes difficult to efficiently handle pagination, search, and sorting.
Users may have access to very large datasets, and neither post-filtering nor pre-filtering scales well.
Describe the solution you'd like
A built-in feature similar to “materialized permissions,” where Permify maintains incrementally updated permission results.
This would allow applications to combine permission data with database-level pagination, search, and sorting for fast listing responses.
Describe alternatives you've considered
- Post-filtering / Pre-filtering → Does not scale for large datasets and cannot support efficient sorting or pagination.
- Maintaining a custom mirrored dataset through the Watch API → works but requires significant engineering effort.
