Mod Name
Jankson, oωo
Mod Homepage
Jankson, owo-lib
Minecraft version
1.21.1 (LTS)
Describe the bug
The game fails to launch due to a launcher error when using Jankson alongside owo-lib. Seems like it may be related or unrelated to #2293?
Steps to reproduce
- Install NeoForge 21.1.248, Connector 2.0.0 beta 17, FFAPI 0.116.15+2.3.3, Jankson for Fabric 8.0.0, and owo-lib 0.12.15.5-beta.1 for NeoForge.
- Attempt to launch the game.
- It fails, generating no crash report. The launcher's log cites an exception caught by the launcher, caused by "java.lang.module.FindException: Module jankson not found, required by jankson_endec".
- Disable or uninstall owo-lib and launch again. Jankson will be loaded as a mod without issue.
Logs
debug.log, Launcher output; no crash report generated
Additional context
Tested on Prism Launcher.
This seems to be the cause of the launcher exception I mentioned at the end of the #2293 report, which at the time I mistakenly believed to be the same issue as #2293. However, this seems to be a different issue for a few reasons:
- #2293 is fixed in Connector 2.0.0 beta 17, while this error continues to occur.
- This issue occurs between Jankson and owo-lib, whereas #2293 occurred between Jankson and Scarves. The Scarves mod has no bearing to and is not required to reproduce this issue.
- This issue causes a different exception and is caught by the launcher, generating no crash report.
(Thank you so much for the speedy fix on #2293, by the way! ❤)
