We are currently developing a migration plan in between ParallelCluster versions, which includes a ParallelCluster UI upgrade when new versions are available. So far, one of the road blocks we are running into is how Slurm Accounting databases can be migrated between ParallelCluster versions, see aws/aws-parallelcluster#6214.
In the issue, it was mentioned that with newer ParallelCluster versions it seems to be possible to supply a DatabaseName for the Slurm Accounting database, which seems to have been included in ParallelCluster since September/October 2023: aws/aws-parallelcluster#5718.
In the issue, we are exploring the migration use case. It was suggested to create a request here about support for DatabaseName in ParallelCluster UI. Effectively, it boils down to adding a field to the UI which passes the specified database name to ParallelCluster when the cluster is created.
