A Python-based conversational chatbot built with the OpenAI API, featuring short-term memory and a modular, extensible architecture.
This is a prototype of a private, uncensored, and customizable AI chatbot. I built it while learning how to properly design real-world chatbot systems — moving beyond basic prompt-response examples.
The goal was to create a solid foundation that emphasizes:
- Proper conversational memory
- Modular and maintainable code
- Tool integration readiness
- Security and reliability
- Conversational chatbot powered by OpenAI models
- Short-term memory with automatic token limit management
- Clean, modular code structure
- Designed for easy extension with tools and long-term memory
- Focus on reducing common issues (e.g., repetitive echoing)
- Python 3.10+
- OpenAI API
python-dotenv- Virtual environments
- Standard Python tooling
