The overlay detector grepped apple, as text (so pineapple, board would count) and looked up uname on PATH. This splits architecture from Apple identity the way Naeem's architecture-support work did: helpers invoked next to the script, and only a real apple,* device-tree entry counts.

The overlay detector grepped apple, as text, which would accept pineapple, board, and looked up uname on PATH. Architecture and Apple identity now share helpers invoked next to the script and match only apple,* device-tree entries.

Closing: the overlay already has a quattro PR at omacom#9835 (with omacom#9834). The detector follow-up belongs there, not back on this fork branch.

Reopened. This is the stacked change on omacom/asahi-overlay so it can merge here and flow into omacom#9835.

Closing: we only need the existing boolean omarchy-hw-apple-silicon. The ISA helpers were unused, and the grep vs device-tree-entry change is not worth a follow-up on this overlay.
