It would be nice to have an (optional) general public (or "lay-person") summary, with image.
This would be a short piece of text, 1000 characters say, along with a title and an image, that allows a proposer to explain their science and observations to a non-science audience. The title could just be the proposal title.
For successful emerlin proposals, this could then be displayed in the Jodrell Bank Discovery Center.
This might be best done with Markdown (MD) or reStructuredText (RST), rather than LaTeX. Whatever way we choose its likely the output will be PDF, with the image embedded somehow.
