Summary

  • scripts/upgrade-goal now copies Goal's lib/*.goal files from the Go module cache (go list -m -f '{{.Dir}}' codeberg.org/anaseto/goal) instead of a sibling ../goal checkout. That way libs/ always matches the Goal version pinned in go.mod, and the sibling checkout is no longer needed.
  • Makes the copied files writable, since files in the module cache are read-only.
  • Fixes an outdated comment in scripts/build.

Background: Goal's -tags full only affects its own cmd/goal binary, and ari already imports those extension packages directly. Goal doesn't embed lib/*.goal itself, so copying the files into libs/ is still necessary.

Test plan

  • Ran scripts/upgrade-goal: it resolves v1.8.1 from the cache, and libs/ is unchanged (it already matched v1.8.1).

🤖 Generated with Claude Code

Copy lib/*.goal from the module version pinned in go.mod (via
go list -m) instead of a sibling ../goal checkout, so libs/ can't
drift from the Go dependency.
