PG&E / San Jose Clean Energy: Warning on startup - Missing unit of measure, defaulting to KWH

Description

During Home Assistant startup, the Opower integration logs a warning originating from the underlying opower.py library regarding a missing unit of measure. While data appears to load correctly because it defaults to kWh, a structural fix is needed in the parser to cleanly handle the API response profile for this utility context without triggering fallback warnings.

Expected Behavior

The library should parse the utility API payload without logging fallback warnings, or map the account's specific data stream to the correct unit automatically based on the utility context.

Actual Behavior

The following warning is generated once per startup sequence:

Logger: /usr/local/lib/python3.14/site-packages/opower/opower.py
Source: components/opower/coordinator.py:120
First occurred: 17:08:01 (1 occurrence)
Last logged: 17:08:01

Missing unit of measure, defaulting to KWH

Environment

  • Integration: Opower
  • Utility Provider: Pacific Gas & Electric / San Jose Clean Energy
  • Account Type: Residential Electric

Debug Logs

(Note: If needed, debug logs showing the exact payload can be provided upon request.)
