[BUG] #240
Description
Browser (please complete the following information):
- OS: Windows 7 Pro SP2 64bit
- Version: R3dfox 142.0.1 64bit & R3dfox 153.0 64bit (Install & Portable)
- This is a r3dfox specific bug: 1) In the current version R3dfox 153.0 the uBlock Origin plugin installs automatically as soon as I am connected to the internet and indeed it does not allow uninstallation. All I can do is just turn it off.
I repeated the same in mobile version the same things it does.
In the older version R3dfox 142.0.1 this issue does not exist. The uBlock Origin add-on is installed only when I want it, like any add-on in general.
- In the current version R3dfox 153.0 with this obligation of uBlock Origin presents another issue in some chats for example freechat.gr in 5 minutes we are automatically expelled from this bot system that my browser is unsuitable. While with the older version R3dfox 142.0.1 this problem does not exist.

Additional context
After this was published I did an update test as well
R3dfox 144.0.2 the above problem does not exist in this version either.
It seems since you tweaked the Profile option in the menus since then uBlock Origin has become a permanent plugin that cannot be uninstalled and at the same time causes on some pages "invalid browser" without being able to connect to the latest versions after 144.0.2.
Also one more additional observation. With the installation of newer versions from R3dfox 144.0.2 ie with 152 and latest R3dfox 153.0 or portable version when I click high on the menu “Profile” --> “Profile Management --> Create Profile --> crash "The component 'r3dfox" stopped working. The program stopped working properly due to some problem. Close the program.

This is an entirely different bug; you shouldn't mix bugs in the same issue report; makes it difficult for the repo maintainers to sort out, label and manage issues in the repo's issue tracker... FWIW, you're probably reporting a duplicate of #187 ...

The 2 links helped me to understand and following the procedure the problem was fixed. Thank you
For those who want to solve this problem, here's how:
In the program folder
C:..........\Eclipse Community\r3dfox\distribution
I edit the policies.json file with notepad
I spot
"ExtensionSettings": {
"uBlock0@raymondhill.net": {
"install_url": "https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/downloads/latest/uBlock0@raymondhill.net/latest.xpi",
"installation_mode": "normal_installed",
"private_browsing": true
}
I rename normal_installed to blocked
Move to the profile folder
C:.........\AppData\Roaming\Eclipse Community\r3dfox\Profiles............default\extensions
I am deleting the file uBlock0@raymondhill.net.xpi
So the 3 problems above ceased to exist
Good luck

Thanks for pointing it out but what you describe is a different matter while what I posted was different

I'm not entirely sure what I want to do about this. I can't think of an instance where any normal user shouldn't run without uBlock Origin, nor can I think of any instance where I would want any browser without some sort of ad blocker.
I don't like that it is forced, but I'm not sure how to have it (and properly set enabled in private mode flag) without doing it this way.

I meant to mention this but I completely forgot.
This does work, but you will need to do this every time you update the browser, as every update will replace policies.json.

the-r3dacted, In continuation of what I didn't mention here and the reason for what you are saying is that apart from the command "block" I found that putting the word "allowed" instead of block. By following the steps I described, you end up having removed the automatic install and then I reinstalled the same uBlock Origin program, of course they also play, but you can choose any ad blocker you want. Eh, the flaw in the browser does not exist. This automatic installation has some vulnerability. It's important to do the job right and that way.

the-r3dacted, Anyway, I make a lot of changes and interventions in general, which is now a fault in front of the range of modifying techniques in a new version.

Although I don't have a strong position on this, I do agree with others, and like jwhs92u wrote-- you should let Users choose the content blocker (rhill has a fit when people call uBlock an adblocker) they wish to use. Or not. It's up to them.
Actually I think it's kinda weird that any developer/devs would force usage of a third-party app into their own app. Even the megacorps industry software companies don't do that. (Do they??)
I can think of one real-world use of wanting a 'naked' r3dfox build - security testing. Especially since this is primarily designed for pre-Win10 environments, I can imagine some folks are comparing browser build scenarios and want to compare the security posture with and without any blocker installed. Especially when testing using certain types of malware.
The more I think about it, almost any software testers that want to check pre-Win10 envs would like browsers at their most-basic settings. E.g. check if games still work.
Tiny datapoint: I do NOT allow a content blocker to run in private mode in any of my browser flavors. Sacrilege, I know. So your setting is interfering with my personal preference, and I gotta manually revert it each time installing a new version.
