Description

Adds a Playwright integration suite that runs the published @clerk/mosaic UserButton against a real Clerk instance. Until now Mosaic was only tested in jsdom with Clerk mocked.

  • New next-app-router-mosaic template that installs @clerk/nextjs, @clerk/shared and @clerk/mosaic from pkglab. It renders UserButton through public exports only, plus styles.css.
  • New long-running app next.appRouterMosaic.withEmailCodes. This instance has organizations and multi-session enabled.
  • integration/tests/mosaic/user-button.test.ts (@mosaic) covers:
    • renders nothing while signed out
    • opening the menu
    • switching organization
    • "Manage account" opening the UserProfile modal
    • signing out
    • custom menu items and menuItemOrder
    • a custom profile page rendering inside the real UserProfile modal
    • switching between signed-in accounts
  • Wires the suite into CI: a test:integration:mosaic script, a turbo task and a ci.yml matrix row on Next 16.

This is the first step toward shifting Mosaic's testing from per-layer unit tests to integration tests. UserProfile and reverification will follow once they are exported publicly.

📝 Walkthrough

Walkthrough

The pull request adds a Mosaic Next.js integration template and registers it as an integration preset. It adds end-to-end tests for UserButton account and custom-menu behavior, adds a fallback integration test, and removes two existing UserButton test suites. It also adds the Mosaic test command, Turbo task, long-running app configuration, CI matrix entry, and changeset files.

Select and assert an organization before selecting Personal account.

signIn authenticates the user but does not establish an active organization. The session can therefore already have organization === null, making the personal-account click unable to prove a transition. Select one created organization and wait for its ID before selecting Personal account and waiting for organization === null.

The optional chain does not make the predicate pass when window.Clerk is unavailable. It returns undefined, so undefined === null is false.
